Hello, I think you are correct of being afraid of still have the start problem after repairing the engine... It looks to me electric behaviour with temperature... If it runs it's not a fuel problem... Starting difficulties when hot can be electric but... They're right when they say there is already a compression issue due to piston rings (7 bars would be nice) and problems also due to valve ring seals or guides. 300 hours is about time to have a bit of all these problems. And don't forget timmin…

I would like to help more, but I am not understanding or aware of all the facts / historic of the bike. A need of change piston rings means there is a lot of oil consumption. Compression test could be checked first. A need of work in valves means there is a huge valve clearence or ware in rocking arms or valve seats... And that I can't understand as my HSB is doing an overhaul and after 475h without any tunning need... Are perfect!!!!! But start problems occurred when air filters are not cleaned…

Well... It didn't occurred to me that an ignition /fuel map had been changed... In my conception if it is HSB it is... Stock! There is no need to change what is perfect. The only one I saw until today that had problems to start was a 501 with... A fmf exhaust.

Hello, well at the time that solved the problem... It was annoying... In a long mileage bike... Never had that kind of problem until now... And I've had so far 3 bikes with 300h...And the actual HSB'10 is just starting an overhaul with hard 675h.

Hello... Don't know if it is already fixed... But I had that problem once with a XL350... And it was the electric coil (black cilinder above engine head cover) that was finished... Hope it can help (Some of ktm... €70)
